The Sharbot Lake Family Health Team is pleased to offer Deep in the Bones Part 2. To apply for this program you must have completed Deep in the Bones Part 1 and have a regular practice. Part 2 will follow the same format as Part 1 but will add more diversity to the weight and mat classes. This program is a synthesis of mindfulness and stabilizing movements designed to help participants feel progressively stronger in both mind and body. It is great for anyone and particularly beneficial for:

  • people 50+ who love living life fully and wish to continue to do so;

  • people living with osteopenia/osteoporosis and who are at moderate risk for fracture;

  • people who are hypermobile.

It’s summer in beautiful Sharbot Lake! Let’s reconnect with each other and the natural world through all our sense doors. This outdoor program focuses on breath and movement designed to ground and stabilize your mind and body.

Location: the classes take place on the beach side lawn outside the Medical Centre in Sharbot Lake.

Wellness programs at the Sharbot Lake Family Health Team are offered at no cost to patients and community members.

Deep in the Bones adheres to the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines. It includes weight-bearing aerobic activity, resistance training with free weights, and movements that improve balance, posture and core strength. This program is recommended for people who want to maintain good function in their daily lives. Jill is Bone Fit certified through Osteoporosis Canada and has designed this program to be appropriate for people interested in maintaining bone health who are at moderate risk for fracture.
